Tailing Storage Facility

Technical Evaluation

The scope of the review work for potential tailings storage facility (TSF) shall entail:

  • Collecting and reviewing all available information pertinent to the design of the TSF i.e., survey, design criteria such as production rates, mine schedule, base line climatic and seismic data, determination of regional and local soil conditions, geology, geotechnical and hydrogeology.
  • Review the current TSF design for the following design components:
    • Run-off control system
    • Slurry distribution system
    • Decant system
    • Storm water management system
    • Seepage control system
    • Water storage dams.
  • Develop a deterministic water balance associated with the TSF.
  • Compilation of a preliminary Bill of Quantities for the TSF to determine the sustaining capital.
  • Review the estimate of the operating costs associated with the TSF.
  • Review the annualized cash flow of the TSF over the Life of Mine (LoM) for incorporation into the overall financial model.
